What is a Digital Potentiometer?
Digital Potentiometers (also known as programmable resistors) allow resistance adjustment under computer control. Available in 10K, 50K, and 100K resistance values, NCD Digital Potentiometer devices allow control of up to 256 programmable resistors.
What is the advantage to using an Digital Potentiometer?
Each potentiometer can be programmed to a different resistance value with 256 steps of adjustment per resistor. Three connection points per resistor allow direct wiring across the resistor and to the potentiometer wiper. Available with a USB or RS-232 interface, NCD digital potentiometer devices also include a XR expansion port, allowing relay control from the same device using external relay banks.
What do our UPOT Series Controllers offer?
Our UPOT Series controllers offer our customers the capability of integrating Programmable Digital Potentiometers into their next computer control application. Potentiometers are available in 10K, 50K, and 100K values. Each potentiometer output can be set to any of 256 possible output values. Each potentiometer may be controlled individually, or you may control all potentiometers simultaneously.
